On Wednesday, June 9, our Theology on Tap will explore the question “Can science and religion get along?”

There seems to be a popular misunderstanding that pits science and logic against religion. The truth is, that one informs the other, even though sometimes they don’t always see eye to eye. The late Pope John Paul II himself stressed the inherent and unbreakable bond between faith and reason. Come and explore the questions of modern science as seen through the eyes of faith.

On Wednesday, June 2, our Theology on Tap will explore the question “What’s the benefit of sex ‘au natural’?”

We’ve all heard about leaving behind the plastic water bottles and switching to a reusable bottle instead. There’s no shortage of movements to reduce consumption and waste to save the earth, eliminate hormones and chemicals from our food, and clean up the water. But…can we save the world one bedroom at a time? We’d like to think so! Come meet Dr. Janet Smith and discover the fascinating facts behind contraception that you’ve never heard before, from it turning you into an entirely different person and changing your judgment to the carbon footprint it leaves behind. Be sure you know the facts!

Get away from all the rush hour and construction traffic and explore historic old parishes in downtown Detroit. Enjoy some peace & quiet and prayer within the sacred silence of St. Mary’s Greektown. We’ll be there from 5 – 6:15 p.m. for prayer & Mass (Mass will start around 5:45), and then it’s off to Theology on Tap at Parthenon Restaurant down the street! (Theology on Tap will start at 7 p.m.)

This evening, Theology on Tap will explore the question “Can we fit prayer into our workplaces?”  and “How can work become prayer?”

We spend quite a lot of our time in our work – can God be a part of that? With a Blackberry filled with appointments and needing to be in more than one place at once, is there even time for God to enter in at the office? Faith isn’t always safe topic in the workplace, but learn how you can both work hard AND pray hard, and how it can actually help you on the job in the end!

Enjoy some peace & quiet and prayer within the sacred silence of Holy Family near Greektown, known to its longtime Italian parishioners as Sancta Familia. We’ll be there from 5 – 6:15 p.m. and then it’s off to Theology on Tap at Pizza Papalis! (Theology on Tap starts at 7 p.m.)

Our first evening of Theology on Tap will explore the question “Is God applicable to our lives today?”

Where does God enter into our lives? What might God have to say that could be of importance and benefit to us in this post-modern age, and what in the world does God have to do with contemporary issues both moral and political?!? How do we even talk to our friends and acquaintances about any of this??

Come to question or come to listen – either way, just come!
